Biography
After graduating from the St. John’s School of Law in 2004, Sean immediately began representing both union members and individuals in the fields of Workers’ Compensation, NYS/NYC Disability Pension disputes, and Social Security Disability. Quickly recognized for his litigation and advocacy skills, Sean became immersed in fighting for First Responders’ rights on the legislative front, joining elected officials, union officials, and non-profit organizations in lobbying for the federal Zadroga Act. The many years spent advocating for 9/11 First Responders within the halls of the nation’s Capital taught Sean the power of direct lobbying and engagement of our elected officials.
Keeping his hand in the legislative arena, Sean continued to write and lobby for legislation to benefit New York State’s workers. When the battle for Tier 6 equity began, Sean’s knowledge as a pension attorney and skills as an effective legislative advocate were sought out by officials looking to change the laws to better the lives of our newest public servants. Joining in the strategic planning, drafting, and implementation of Tier 6 reform, major initial victories were secured for public workers throughout New York State.
Having spent a vast amount of time in the New York legislature fighting for pension reform, Sean developed many treasured and valuable relationships with New York’s leaders, garnering a reputation as a proactive and forward-thinking advocate. As a result, various union officials requested that Sean become their legislative counsel, and TRF was born.
Today, Sean serves as legislative counsel to various organizations, including:
